Young Associates become Thistle Software

Tokyo, 15 April 2003 -- Young Associates changed their trading name to Thistle Software, it was announced today.

John Young, the founder of Young Associates (now Thistle Software) said that, in today's information age, it is important for users to identify the company with a strong web presence. The change of name coincides with the launch of the Thistle Software web-site (http://www.thistlesoft.com) and the pending release of v2.0 of Thistle Software's flag-ship product - PrEditor.

The thistle is the national flower of Scotland, and so reflects the founder's roots, being born and bred in Scotland, but now living in Japan. This new company identity will probably bring him a flavour of home, when in the land of the rising sun, cherry blossoms, and hot springs.

Thistle Software writes software and distributes it under the try-before-you-buy principle. The founder, John Young, has been writing software for twenty years in a number of fields using a variety of languages from assembler to C++, Perl to SQL.
